The True North CZ Layering Set

I love it but am a tad disappointed at the lightness of the piece. I thought I was getting a rhodium plated SOLID sterling silver pendant but it's so lightweight it will really only hang properly on a VERY thin cord or - of course - a chain. Never been a chain girl. I have hair past my back pockets and chains are bad news. I ordered this little guy to string on a leather cord to wear solo. Upon receipt, observing the hollow back was immediately offputting ...I knew unless I used a VERY thin cord it wasn't going to be right. Went ahead and attached the findings w/the pendant already on the cord - the self bail is small - then slipped a beloved slim, recycled sterling band with a TINY conflict free rose cut whiskey diamond encircled with recycled gold - one I wore for years as a replacement wedding ring when I broke my finger in an ice storm and my old one no longer worked - onto the cord next to the pendant, and it works - helps the piece to lay properly. Honestly, had I known the back wasn't solid, I'd not have ordered. That said, I was on the fence about grabbing a tiny charm/dangle for this very reason - anticipating lightness on the leather, but not the hollow back - but passed...not wanting more cz in the mix. Now, I may order the gold, too - with a charm for weight. It's that pretty...understated, modern, but still...a "compass rose" of sorts.
